THE INSIDE SCOOP: DIY NOURISH BOWLS // THE REAL MISS BLISS

New year, New you? Look, I’m not going to lie (and you shouldn’t either) at the start of every year we all make some promise or pact that we will be healthier or change something we do. This year for me it is all about simplicity and growth, and one thing I want to simplify in my own life and in yours (I hope to) is food. But most of all, good food!

This week at Miss Bliss we launched our new GRAB + GO range just for YOU! Yes YOU! We spent a few months working on a way to reduce prices and increase fast, easy and delicious nourishing options in our cabinet. This includes our house made sausage rolls, breakfast pots, wraps and my favourite D.I.Y NOURISH BOWLS!

What is a nourish bowl?

To put it simple, a BIG A$$ tasty salad with a base of leafy greens, topped with protein, a serve of carbohydrates, healthy fats and the CRUNCH factor! It is the perfect meal in a bowl, ideal lunch and grab and go dinner for later. A properly balanced bowl will sustain you for lunch or dinner and also provide your gut with pre-biotics. Prebiotics are foods high in fibre which stimulate the good growth of probiotic bacteria in the gut and help build natural levels of good bacteria for your body.

GREENS
Lightly sautéed kale or Rocket

PROTEINS
Poached chicken, quinoa falafels, chickpeas, hemp seeds, eggs or salmon

HEALTHY FATS
Hemp seeds, olive oil, spiced pepitas or avocado

VEGGIES
Maple & cumin roasted carrots, broccoli, beetroot or spiced coriander sweet potato

CARBOHYDRATES
Quinoa or sweet potato
